Reverend Dr. Robert Waterman

This Is Our Story

Antioch Baptist church was organized in 1918, with a group of Christian Workers and a dedicated leader and founder, Reverend Dr. Moses Prophet Paylor. Dr. Paylor pastored Antioch Baptist Church for 40 years. The Antioch Baptist Church stand as a living monument to a great leader whose rare abilities as a pastor and builder led the congregation to our present church. Reverend Dr. Robert M. Waterman is the fifth and current pastor since 2001.

As Antioch celebrates its 100th Anniversary, we move toward building God’s Kingdom by helping His people both spiritually and physically. Antioch is concerned about the health of the community. Antioch’s Women’s and Men’s Ministries have brought in health professionals to conduct Workshop Awareness Programs on some of the medical problems that plague our community, such as hypertension and diabetes. An extension of these efforts is the Health Committee, which provides information and training to address health concerns.

Building the Church, Building the People, and Building the Community. Antioch continues on its path, uniting for fellowship and following Christ. We thank God for 100 years of worship and existence, and look forward to the wonderful things that He has in store for us.

Spiritual Vision

The Spiritual Vision for Antioch Baptist Church is revitalization, greater inclusiveness and outreach ministry that is evident in the community.

The mission is to dream dreams and see visions of even great ministries in our Church, to the glory of God.

This vision is an indication of God’s movement that will change the very nature of Antioch as well as its surrounding communities.
